COMMENTS FROM PARENTS

“Noa seems to understand how my son's mind works - how he processes things. She teaches him problem-solving methods that make sense to him. She appreciates his talents and strengths, and lets him know that. The cognitive processing strategies she has taught him have served him well - not only for Geometry, Algebra and now, Precalculus - but also across subject areas. As my son's learning abilities have been strengthened, so too has his confidence in his own capabilities. Noa takes a holistic approach in working with my son - she is concerned with his overall well-being. To that end, she also has worked with him on strategies to reduce test-taking anxiety. I believe that Noa is extremely knowledgeable in analyzing how students think, teaching them effective learning and problem-solving strategies, and building their own levels of confidence and perseverance. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“I notice that my son is much more confident in doing math. He is willing to stick with his work until he understands rather than giving up. His grades have improved dramatically. Besides the help Noa has given to each of my sons in mathematics, she is one of the most giving, generous, kind and loving souls I have ever met.” Her son added: “I used to hate Algebra. I looked at a problem and just didn't know where to begin. Noa took the time to really help me understand. She helped me with some foundational stuff, like fractions and proportions. Now when I face Algebra problems they aren't so tough. I learned new strategies and different ways of thinking about math.”

“Noa is, without a doubt, the best math teacher I have ever run across. (Incidentally, she is also the only math teacher that I have NOT been either terrified of or utterly baffled by, or both.) Her approach to math not only unique, it is holistic, thorough and, most importantly, effective. My son, who failed Algebra 2 as a sophomore in high school (and has always described himself as "terrible at math") leaves his sessions with Noa relaxed, confident and - get this - HAPPY. He actually enjoys his math tutoring sessions. As a life long math phobic, I find this astounding. Furthermore, I think that Noa is not only teaching my son math skills; she is teaching him to use his brain more effectively. The entire process has been thrilling to witness. We cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“My three teenagers have been working quite happily with Noa Benamotz for the past five years. Although the children each have very different needs, the sessions always seem to pinpoint just what is most helpful for each of them... The best part of Noa’s work with my children for me is seeing her accept each of them for who they are and really searching for ways to draw out their strengths while not stepping away from the work of improving the skills which don't come as easily. She really looks at the child as a whole wonderful being worthy of the effort and companionship involved in creating a working environment.”

“I found Noa to bring tremendous energy and enthusiasm to her tutoring sessions. Her creative approach seemed to be very effective, and my (10-year-old) daughter came away with much greater understanding of the material and renewed confidence in her ability to successfully tackle challenging problems.”

“Noa is the embodiment of a miracle. Her tutoring style is exactly what both my children need. My 21-year-old and my 17-year-old have had many tutors over the years. They have both attended schools designed for learning differences. Noa is the only tutor/teacher who has tried to find out how my two learn and what method works best to enable them to move forward in gaining knowledge... My husband often said, "When the student is ready, the teacher will come." This has certainly been true for our family in Noa's having come into our sphere.”

“Noa was able to meet my 11 year old son right where he was and bring him along in a way which reduced his anxiety and self-doubt and highlighted his unique and creative ability to problem-solve. This change of attitude has been long lasting.”

“Noa, from the first minute she met my (10th grade) daughter, started building her up. She focused on the positive and gave her positive reinforcement... After her sessions with Noa she would come out not only with her homework done, but with a big smile and the confidence of knowing that she can do math! I highly recommend Noa to any one with any problem in math. She approaches math from every angle, the physical and emotional aspects. I wish there had been a Noa when I was coming up in school!”

“My daughter has struggled in math for most of her school years. Working with Noa has given her a chance to attain mastery and the satisfaction of understanding which has improved her self-esteem. Math will always be a challenge for her but she has learned some tricks that help her function more easily and know that she needn't give up.”
